Here you will find a collection of the experiences lived
for travelers from Mirada Oberta
One of the best experiences I have ever experienced
I still don’t know how it was, but my Mum told us that the we were going to Gambia on that summer, back in 2012. I really didn’t have any expectation. I think this made it one of the best human experiences I have ever experienced. We arrived in Africa and for me it was like entering a cloud where time did not happen. I remember that even the most everyday thing took a different dimension in The Gambia, and that Africa and the Gambia in particular fell in love with me. I remember to leave the country knowing that those two weeks had been magical and that I would for sure go back some time.
A trip to enrich your own story
My first experience with Mirada Oberta was when I was 14, and the second time 16. The first time I went to Africa was the discovery of a new world full of surprises and new experiences. Personally, with that trip, I could fully open my mind by letting in all the new things that appeared throughout the day. In addition to opening my mind, I could grow as a person, the trip with a group was very enriching because I could meet new people that after a few days ended up becoming my family, united by the strong experiences that we shared together. Among the young people we created a strong energy that gave the group vitality and curiosity that in this different and special situation, we all end up joining also the elderly, the younger ones and those who are so different from me that I never thought I could join them. The Gambia magic makes everyone end up together!
An enriching journey in many ways, to connect and to disconnect, to learn, to observe your surroundings, to walk around the sandy villages, to talk with others and with you, live and know. Conversations in the light of the moon by the river, long days where sweat is your enemy and water your best friend. A trip where images speak for themselves and where you create your own story.
Open a door
Mirada Oberta has opened the door to me to know such a rich and interesting country. Although it is one of the smallest countries in Africa, all the people who live there have a very big heart. There I made friends that I still last today, especially the people in the Camp where we were staying during the stay. I recommend this experience 100%, if you want to grow, learn, disconnect and enjoy.

The truth is that I really liked it, it is a very recommendable trip. What I liked most was the people, since they were all very kind. As a place, the Camp was very good, and all the places we visit there were very interesting and beautiful. I highly recommend this NGO, because in Gambia people need our help. I also recommend this trip because it makes you open your eyes.

There is a lot to be explained, the trip leads us to think of many things. The most important thing is to thank you for your work by organizing this trip that helps us to have an open look. Thank you so much. From the Escola Institut Costa i Llobera we still have a long way to go, we count on you to share and learn together.
My trip with Mirada Oberta
This summer I wanted to make a different trip. From the website I found the opportunity to participate in the trip to Gambia with Mirada Oberta. I contacted Anna Ferrer, she is the person who leads this project, she explained the proposal to me and I started to excite myself. I did not know anyone of the members of the trip, but I thought it was a good opportunity and that was no obstacle. I did not understand very well what it was about, I really went with few expectations and the heart and mind were wide open ... We met, we introduced ourselves and there I thought that this trip would go well, I had very good vibes. People who want to travel together in solidarity have a special spirit. On July 21st, 2015 at 6pm we meet at El Prat airport and we started all together a very intense 7 day adventure full of good projects, very emotional moments and unforgettable memories. The Gambia, a magical, beautiful country, surrounded by beautiful greens and the Gambia River with all its majesty. We met their inhabitants, simple and welcoming people, with few resources and with a great heart. We met the country from within, not as tourists but as a group of people who wanted to know the country from within, surrounded by themselves and with cooperation projects full of enthusiasm and good wishes. We were very welcomed, they took us to places where the traveler's eye are hard to come by. It was a luxury our stay at "Berefet Camp" some bungalows led by Luis and Maria, who made our stay unbeatable. This wonderful trip helped us understand and know from within what is behind an NGO or a cooperation project, how it works, how they work, and all of their infrastructure. Anna led the group always watching for us and attentive to any setbacks. Everything was marvelous, great, fantastic ... I have no more adjectives to define it. From here I thank you for making this trip as it was. I have returned from Gambia with very good memories, very good vibes, great experiences and good friends. It has been a totally recommended trip, which does not end when you arrive in Barcelona, it becomes a trip with many values and with images impacted in our retina and our hearts.

A mi m'agradaria caminar així. M'allarga la mà, em pregunta com estic, how are you, m’explica que li diuen Duda i te dinou anys.
Vaig a dormir. Bona nit".
